Story: Documentary of the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival.
Scenery: Most of the filming was done at the Monterey fairgrounds, including concert footage and interviews with attendees. Brief segments near the beginning were filmed at the Monterey airport, including a Pacific Airlines 727 landing. Also near the beginning was a short interview with Monterey's police chief. One brief segment shows large numbers of concert attendees sleeping on the football field at Monterey Peninsula College.
Also of local interest: Stephen Stills was a member of Buffalo Springfield, a group which performed at the festival. The day before the festival, he and his fellow band members attended graduation ceremonies at Carmel High School where his sister, Talitha Stills, was graduating. Buffalo Springfield's performance did not make the final cut of the movie, but one of their songs For What It's Worth did make it onto a bonus DVD of outtakes.
