Deep Valley

Story: An unhappy farm girl falls for an escaped convict who was working a chain gang building Highway 1 through Big Sur. Based on a novel by Carmel resident  Dan Totheroh.

Scenery: Much of the film was made on location in Big Sur. Two cabins built as movie sets are now part of the Big Sur Inn.

Also of local interest: Film premiered at the Carmel Theatre, which used to stand where the Carmel Plaza is today.
